I Love Spray Paint!!!

I LOVE spray paint....you can take almost anything and transform it into something fun or classy or warm or whatever!! I wanted a new look in my dining room so I went to the thrift store and bought a shinny brass colored...builders grade type light fixture. I paid 4.88 and I bought 2 cans of paint...Kilz for 2.00 and can of satin black 1.50, then I bought new shades for 2.00 each...total I have 17.50 in the entire light. I LOVE it! It makes the room so warm.
I wiped it down and then I hung it between a latter so that I could get to the bottom and the chain easily.

Then I used black satin spray paint...sorry I didn't take a picture but I bought it at Walmart......just the cheap stuff.

Isn''t it just so cute!!!

Oh, you are VERY creative -- and easy to please...friends could buy you spray paint for your birthday.

I think your chandelier turned out VERY cute!

Love it...and I LOVE that fact that you found such a good find for less and saved lots of money --creating a very adorable piece of art!

Blessings,

Um, yeah, I think the brass version is what I have in my dining room now. I was wondering how it would turn out if I spray painted it! thanks for showing me!

Question--what did you do about the "brass"colored wiring?

Michelle, that looks like a great project. Thank you for leaving the nice comment yesterday.

LOVE the final result and your ladder tip is GREAT! I will definately use that idea next time I paint lamps :)

It was soooooo easy...seriously it took more time to take the old one down and put this one back up than it did to make it! I sprayed the electrical cord, chain and all. I did have to go back and do a little touch up after it was back up.

I have that exact same light. In unsightly gold. I hate it. I'm ashamed I haven't tried this before, because I used to have a business that involved fixing up garage sale finds. :)

Fiddledeedee you should definitely try this!! I had some guests in my house last night...who have never been here and the wife commented on my lovely light fixture....I could kick myself for not trying this earlier!

I love some spray paint too! Especially the color black! Black colors just all the ugly up doesn't it? Nice job. Be blessed. Cindy

I've seen this done many times, but am always afraid to do it! I probably shouldn't be...it always looks better after! smiles!
